چکیده

We present an adaptive resolution simulation of aqueous salt (NaCl) solutions at ambient conditions using the adaptive resolution scheme. Our multiscale approach concurrently couples the atomistic and coarse-grained models of the aqueous NaCl, where water molecules and ions change their resolution while moving from one resolution domain to the other. We employ standard extended simple point charge (SPC/E) and simple point charge (SPC) water models in combination with AMBER and GROMOS force fields for ion interactions in the atomistic domain. Electrostatics in our model are described by the generalized reaction field method. The effective interactions for water–water and water–ion interactions in the coarse-grained model are derived using structurebased coarse-graining approach while the Coulomb interactions between ions are appropriately screened. To ensure an even distribution of water molecules and ions across the simulation box we employ thermodynamic forces. We demonstrate that the equilibrium structural, e.g. radial distribution functions and density distributions of all the species, and dynamical properties are correctly reproduced 4 Authors to whom any correspondence should be addressed. Improving adaptive resolution of analog to digital converters using least squares mean method

This paper presents an adaptive digital resolution improvement method for extrapolating and recursive analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The presented adaptively enhanced ADC (AE-ADC) digitally estimates the digital equivalent of the input signal by utilizing an adaptive digital filter (ADF). The least mean squares (LMS) algorithm also determines the coefficients of the ADF block. In this sch...

Adaptive resolution simulation of a DNA molecule in salt solution.

We present a multiscale simulation of a DNA molecule in 1 M NaCl salt solution environment, employing the adaptive resolution simulation approach that allows the solvent molecules, i.e., water and ions, to change their resolution from atomistic to coarse-grained and vice versa adaptively on-the-fly. The region of high resolution moves together with the DNA center-of-mass so that the DNA itself ...

Application of adaptive sampling in fishery part 2: Truncated adaptive cluster sampling designs

There are some experiences that researcher come across quite number of time for very large networks in the initial samples such that they cannot finish the sampling procedure. Two solutions have been proposed and used by marine biologists which we discuss in this article: i) Adaptive cluster sampling based on order statistics with a stopping rule, ii) Restricted adaptive cluster sampling. Until...

Salt and Pepper Noise Removal using Pixon-based Segmentation and Adaptive Median Filter

Removing salt and pepper noise is an active research area in image processing. In this paper, a two-phase method is proposed for removing salt and pepper noise while preserving edges and fine details. In the first phase, noise candidate pixels are detected which are likely to be contaminated by noise. In the second phase, only noise candidate pixels are restored using adaptive median filter. In...
